Helping nonprofit organizations achieve sustainability through strategic capacity building
Krystine Sipple and Bruce Friedman first met at a nonprofit governance workshop in 2017, connecting over their passion for strong leadership and organizational growth. Before long, they realized another shared interest: they were the daughter and father of individuals diagnosed with rare diseases. They recognized the strength, passion and urgency unique to the rare disease community and its important work, but understood that strength must be paired with strategy.
Thus, RD Strategies, LLC was born, with a focus on nonprofit work in the rare disease community. Krys and Bruce work with those striving to make a difference in their community, whether a rare disease organization or any other nonprofit endeavor.
Let their experience and your passion create something truly exceptional for your nonprofit organization.
Bruce has vast experience in a wide range of industries, leadership positions and diverse company cultures. His constructive and humanistic approach helps leaders and organizations identify opportunities, facilitate sustained improvement and increase organizational capacity. Bruce focuses on collaboration and developing solutions that are forward-thinking and create positive, lasting impact.
His professional experiences have included a Big Four public accounting firm, two Fortune 100 companies, a leadership position in a large international nonprofit, as well as higher education and smaller for-profit K-12 education companies. Bruce has served in board leadership positions for organizations focused on maximizing the independence and capabilities of those facing physical and cognitive challenges, including Bournelyf Special Camp, Team Telomere and the Cerebral Palsy Association of Chester County. Bruce’s passion for the rare disease and special needs community was inspired by his late son Josh, who lived an impactful life of 17 years while coping with physical and cognitive challenges of a rare telomere disorder.
In 2017, Bruce earned an MS in Organizational Dynamics with a concentration in Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he holds an MBA and BS in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University. Bruce has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania since 1992.
